RENEE MONTAGNE, host:
Good morning. I’m Renee Montagne.
The prospect of drinking beer only at lunch sent hundreds of Danish brewery workers out on the street in protest. For years, the Carlsberg brewery in Denmark had beer coolers placed around the workplace for drinking on the job. This month, the company removed the coolers and limited beer to the lunch hour. The strikers were joined by the drivers who deliver the beer, a gesture of solidarity, since the drivers are exempt from the new rules.
